Agnes Miller Parker (1895–1980) was a renowned Scottish engraver, illustrator, and painter, best known for her exceptional wood engravings. Her early work was influenced by the Cubist and Vorticist movements, but she gained fame for her distinctive woodcuts, which featured a subtle use of light and shade, intricate hatching, and detailed depictions of nature and animals. She was a prominent figure in the 20th-century wood-engraving revival and collaborated with notable publishers like the Gregynog Press, Golden Cockerel Press, and the Limited Editions Club of New York. Parker is particularly celebrated for her illustrations in fine art books. She also produced independent prints, particularly of cats, which she loved and often depicted with great skill in capturing texture and movement.
